National Friends of Libraries Week

Friends of the Library book sale

Friends of Libraries groups have their very own national week of celebration! October 18-24, 2015, is National Friends of Libraries week.

The Friends of the Tualatin Public Library were re-established in 2004 and have raised more than $125,000 for the library to date. Through used book sales, the Friends raise money to provide resources for additional programming, summer reading, equipment, and special events throughout the year. The Friends also have contributed thousands of volunteer hours in the Library.

Friends of the Tualatin Library is a member-supported nonprofit organization that advocates, fund raises, and provides support for the Tualatin Library. Membership in the Friends of the Tualatin Library is open to all.

In celebration of National Friends of Libraries Week, the Friends will host Chocolate Friendzy. Drop by the Library Community Room between 4:30 and 6 pm on Saturday, October 24, for an afternoon of fun, Friends, and chocolate. This event will introduce membership and volunteer opportunities.
