Makerspace Use Policy and Waivers
All users of the Tualatin Library Makerspace should be aware of our Use Policy.
Signed waivers are required to be in the Makerspace and/or use Makerspace equipment.
Waiver for Adults
Waiver for minors or adults that require a caretaker - to be signed by a parent/guardian
Acuerdo de usuario de Makerspace y exención de responsabilidad para adultos
Acuerdo de usuario del Makerspace y renuncia de responsabilidad para menores
Reservations can be made through Skedda. Please read the following rules before making a reservation. Reservations must check in with the Information Desk before entering the Makerspace.
Policy and procedure for individual reservations
Reservations can only be made by people who have signed waivers; groups must supply all the names of the individuals in their group so that they can be compared against a list of signed waivers.
Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance, up to the same day, dependent on availability.
Reservations can only be made once a day unless otherwise arranged.
Groups of more than 12 people must reserve two general use slots.
One slot for specific equipment and one general use slot can be reserved, but they must be concurrent.
The person reserving the 3D printers or Glowforge must have already completed the certification process including doing a demonstration for staff.
Individuals must be aware that they are sharing the space and should minimize the amount of space they are using, keep volume to an acceptable level, and keep conversations appropriate to all ages.
Individuals or groups must leave the lab at the end of their reservation; a 15-minute grace period is allowed for cleanup; any other extension must be discussed with staff. Late entry does not grant time beyond the end of the reservation.
All users must clean up after themselves including, but not limited to, washing tools where appropriate, putting way tools that do not require washing, putting away any supplies used, throwing away trash, and wiping down tables.
While some machines may have longer buffer times in order for prints to finish before the next reservation, lab time should be limited to two hours from when you entered.
Failure to follow these rules will result in a discussion for the first offense; multiple offenses may result in revocation of reservation privileges.
