The Detective Unit is responsible for follow-up investigations for specifically assigned cases. These cases are usually serious incidents such as, but not limited to, homicides, death investigations, robberies, serious sexual assaults, serious physical assaults, child abuse cases and other felony cases that demand a unique investigative knowledge, time and may require travel outside the local area.
The Detective Unit maintains memberships with several multi-agency task forces such as Washington County Major Crimes Team, Clackamas County Major Crimes Team, Washington County Multi-Disciplinary Child Abuse Team, Washington County Elder Abuse Multi-Disciplinary Team, Clandestine Lab Enforcement Team, Portland Metro Robbery Task Force, Interagency Stress Traumatic Incident Team, and Titan. Detectives also continue to work closely with various Law Enforcement and Public service agencies at the Local, State, and Federal levels, including out of state agencies.
