City Bids Fond Farewell to the Tualatin Crawfish Festival

The past two years have required us to be flexible and nimble, to shift quickly, and to adapt to challenges all around us. The pace and scale of change has certainly been challenging.

At the same time, new doors have opened and allowed us to introduce a number of fresh activities and events. Some of these events include the Holiday Lights Parade, Share the Love, and Outrun the Rain. We’ve received great feedback about these new traditions and look forward to continuing them.

We’re continuing to adapt, change, and evolve our portfolio of community events. One of these is the Crawfish Festival that has been a valued community event, each August, for many years.  As you know, the past two years have been very difficult on the events industry, forcing the cancellation of the Crawfish Festival in 2020 and 2021.  The City has been in close communication with the event organizer (Better Series, LLC) to discuss this summer’s event, and it has become apparent that the Festival is simply no longer viable or sustainable, and as such, Better Series and the City have agreed to bid farewell to the Festival.  While much loved for many years, it is time to look to the future and adapt in an appropriate way.

Of course, we know how important it is for our community to continue to be able to celebrate together and we are pleased to share that the City is planning a special free concert in Tualatin Community Park on August 5, 2022. Once the details have been finalized, we’ll be sure to share them with you. If you loved Crawfish Festival, we can’t wait to see you this summer!
