Tualatin Celebrates Martin Luther King Jr Day

This Monday, January 17, is MLK Day. Each year, on the third Monday in January, we celebrate the life and legacy of the civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Many choose to honor his legacy of service through volunteering their time. As such, we are hosting several "Make it a Day On, Not a Day Off" service opportunities.

Spruce Up the Library

Fifteen volunteers will gather at the Library to dust shelves, organize the collections, and connect with other dedicated volunteers.

Put Down Roots in Tualatin

Students from Hazelbrook Middle School's AVID program will plant 150 native trees and shrubs along the Tualatin River to help improve forest diversity and stream health.

Friday, January 14, 8:30 am - 2:30 pm

This opportunity is not open to the general public. For other planting and natural resource volunteer opportunities, visit www.tualatinoregon.gov/volunteer

Over 500 volunteers support the City of Tualatin each year. Volunteer opportunities range from planting trees to clerical work to serving on a board or committee. We are incredibly grateful for our volunteers.
