Tualatin's Response to COVID-19

Following Governor Brown’s directives issued on March 12 and recent developments with the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Tualatin has taken several actions to protect our staff and the larger Tualatin community. We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as circumstances evolve. Decisions will be communicated through the City’s website and social media channels.

In accordance with Governor Brown’s recommendations related to large gatherings and other events, all non-essential programs, events, and meetings are either canceled or postponed through April 8. This includes committee meetings, stakeholder group meetings, programs put on by the Juanita Pohl Center, Tualatin Public Library, and Tualatin Parks and Recreation Department. The lunch program at the Juanita Pohl Center will continue as pick-ups only.

There are a few exceptions to this and will be communicated on a case-by-case basis. All facility reservations are also canceled and any fees paid will be refunded.

At this time, we are not planning to close any public facilities including the Juanita Pohl Center, Tualatin Public Library, and our public counters. We have increased our cleaning schedules, adjusted furniture to provide greater distance, and removed materials that are difficult to clean.

In accordance with Governor Brown’s recommendations related to the workplace, we are implementing social distancing between employees, are either canceling or limiting in-person meetings, canceling non-essential work travel for conferences, events, and training through April 8, and implementing a Temporary Administrative Policy that will apply to all staff. We will continue providing all essential services.

City staff is in regular contact with both local and state public health authorities, and will continue to make adjustments as the situation evolves.
