Tualatin Recognized For Clean Energy Leadership
In January, we received SolSmart Bronze designation through the Energy Ready Program, a national initiative that supports local governments advancing solar, electric vehicles, and energy storage. The designation recognizes steps the City has taken to streamline planning and permitting processes, making it easier and more affordable for residents and businesses to install solar energy systems. Clear, efficient codes help expand access to clean energy and support Tualatin’s Community Climate Action Plan goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
In addition to environmental benefits, solar can lower electricity costs for property owners. Residents and businesses can request a free quote through the nonprofit Energy Trust of Oregon’s Solar Program, which also offers cash incentives to reduce upfront installation costs for qualifying projects.
Tualatin is proud to be recognized for implementing solar-friendly policies that increase access to clean, renewable energy in our community.
