Mayor’s Note

The City Council proclaimed May 3 – 9, 2026 to be Public Service Recognition Week in Tualatin. Public service is an honorable calling that involves a wide variety of challenging and rewarding professions. The city employs engineers, arborists, accountants, mechanics, analysts, and more. Depending on the time of year, we have upwards of 200 employees – all dedicated to this wonderful community. Thank you to our staff for everything they do. It is a great honor to serve with such a wonderful team.

Here’s a few other quick highlights coming this May.

  • Attend my final State of the City Address on May 19, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at The Grand Hotel at Bridgeport. Thanks to generous sponsors we’ll have heavy hors d’oeuvres and an open bar. Plus, you can pick up your collectible mini pennant for this event!

  • The next statewide election is May 19, 2026, and ballots were mailed at the end of April. There is a ballot drop site in the Tualatin Public Library parking lot. Or you can drop it in the mail as long as it is postmarked on or before election day.

  • Learn more about our annual budget process and consider viewing one of our Budget Committee Meetings on May 11, May 20, or May 27. The next fiscal year begins on July 1, 2026.
