TUALATIN LIBRARY SIGNAL WRAP

Did you recognize the signal box by the Tualatin Library at the corner of Upper Boones Ferry and Martinazzi Ave? This signal box features a piece of art from the Tualatin Visual Chronicle collection.

The piece, titled “Summer – Koch Farm” by Jan Rothermel, was commissioned by the Tualatin Arts Advisory Committee in 2008. The Koch Farm was located off Tualatin-Sherwood Rd. from 1938-2008. The Koch family is still actively farming today in St. Paul, Oregon.

Tualatin’s Signal Box Wrap project, sponsored by the Tualatin Arts Advisory Committee, turns traffic signal boxes found on street corners into public art pieces. The City currently has two signal box wraps on display. The other is at the corner of Boones Ferry and Sagart.
