Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that can be fatal when inhaled.  That's what makes it so dangerous. Without a detector, you don't know it's there.  Carbon monoxide can come from any fuel burning appliance that's malfunctioning, a blocked chimney or flue, vehicles, furnace, cracked or loose furnace exchanger, gas range/stove, gas clothes dryer, water heater, fireplaces, generators, wood burning stoves, etc.

Between 1999-2010, a total of 5,149 deaths from unintentional carbon monoxide poisoning occurred in the United States, an average of 430 deaths per year.
