Imagine Your Story Summer Reading 2020

Summer Reading 2020

Imagine Your Story Summer Reading 2020
Virtual Summer Reading Program

Explore the world of stories this summer with the Tualatin Public Library. Fairy tales, folk tales, funny stories, scary stories, adventures, mysteries, and so much more. Read a book and discover a new world!

Due to social distancing measures, summer reading is a little different this summer.

Summer Reading starts June 1st and will continue through at least August 31st, but will likely be extended into September. We will update this page as the summer progresses.

You can download and print the reading log at home.

You don't have to "sign-up" at the beginning this summer. Instead, you'll let us know when you complete your reading log.

When you finish your reading log, please fill out this form with your contact information. We will contact you to let you know when we are able to give away reading reward books as well as for the Grand Prize.

You do not have to turn in a physical log to the library to complete the program.

You can complete multiple logs.

Reading rewards this year will be books. We will be giving away books when the library is open again and will likely have them available into the fall.

-Two books per child and teen who finishes

-One book per adult who finishes

-All finishers are entered into our grand prize drawings

We've traditionally asked every reader to complete an individual log. This year we're giving you options. Feel free to read and complete the reading log as a family, or use it any way you want to. We just want to encourage everyone to read.

Remember, everything counts for reading, which includes books, audiobooks, comic books, magazines, newspapers, cereal boxes, reading aloud, or being read to.

If you need a log, but don't have a printer, contact us and we will mail one to you. Or, simply keep track of your reading. We have designed our logs to record 1000 minutes of total reading time.

Virtual Events

Our events have gone virtual too! Visit our Events Calendar for storytimes, book chats, crafts, and more.

Some of the benefits to readers participating in summer reading include:

Encouragement that reading become a lifelong habit
Reluctant readers can be drawn in by the activities
Reading over the summer helps children keep their skills up

And it being summer, the program can just be good fun and provide an opportunity for family time.
