Park Rangers

During the Summer months the Police Department hires Park Rangers to patrol our city parks, greenways, and the Tualatin Commons.

They are non-sworn personnel that act as liaison between park users and the police department. They ensure park regulations are being followed and the park facilities are secure.

Park Rangers provide answers to questions about programs and locations of activities in our city parks. It is the contact with youth and adults that make this such a success.

Park Rangers are employed from the end of the school year, through the summer, until the start of the next school year.

The requirements of a Park Ranger are:

    18 years old
    Free of Felony Convictions
    Possess an Oregon Drivers License
    Pass a department background investigation
    Pass a department oral interview
