Join the party! Start planning your event now!!!!
On Tuesday, August 5, 2014, neighborhood residents throughout Tualatin took a stand and gave neighborhood crime & drugs a going away party!
Nearly 20 Tualatin neighborhoods joined the annual National Night Out celebration. They took the opportunity to throw block parties, hold neighborhood barbeques, and some started Neighborhood Watch groups.
Each year, on the first Tuesday in August, from 3 to 10 p.m., residents in neighborhoods throughout Tualatin and across the nation, are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. Many neighborhoods throughout Tualatin host a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from police, contests, youth activities and anti-crime rallies. This is all in the spirit of getting to know neighbors and local police, in order to prevent crime in the community.
If you have a National Night Out event planned for your neighborhood, please let the Tualatin Police Department know, so that we can arrange to have McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog make a visit!
For more information about this annual event, please visit the National Night Out Website or contact Tualatin Police Department's Program Coordinator, Jennifer Massey.
