Message from Library Manager

Library Manager Abigail Elder

On behalf of the Library staff and volunteers, welcome to the Tualatin Public Library website.

Our primary mission is to provide all citizens with open access to the widest range of materials and services which will fulfill their informational, educational, and recreational needs for living in today’s world.

Tualatin Public Library owns almost 100,000 items including books, music, audio-books, DVDs, games, and magazines. In addition, your library card gives you access to over 1.5 million items owned by Washington County libraries, including e-books and online research databases. Use the Search Catalog box on any library page to find items and reserve them for pickup at Tualatin Library.

Of course, Tualatin Library offers more than just books; library programs are also extremely popular—we offer dozens of events every week for children, teens, adults and families. Check the Library Calendar for upcoming events.

The Library could not accomplish any of this without our dedicated and skilled staff. They are ready to connect you to library and community resources 359 days a year. In addition to our paid staff, the library benefits from excellent volunteers  who donate over 10,000 hours annually to the library by checking in and shelving materials, assisting in programs, doing administrative tasks and providing leadership and support for the library.

Our Library is a place of contemplation, engagement, dialog and activity. We are constantly seeking ways to improve our service to Tualatin residents. Please feel free to contact me at the office and let me know how we can best serve you and your family.

Sincerely,
Abigail Elder, Library Manager
