ArtSplash is housed in a 60'X80' canvas tent along the Commons Lake, complete with lights and overnight security. Paintings and other 2-dimensional wares are displayed on 37 1/2" x 72" wire rack panels within the open walled space. Each artist is allotted two of these panels. In addition to the wire panels, 8' tables will be interspersed for the display of 3-dimensional works such as jewelry and stoneware.

Many of the artists choose to remain on site throughout the weekend to offer insight on their artwork. Community members are encouraged to ask about motivation, design, and technique. Their stories may be of little known history and surprise!

Please join us for a weekend of family fun and enrichment. Best of Show ($150), 1st ($100), 2nd ($75), 3rd ($50) and five honorable mentions ($25 each) are awarded within the first hour of opening.

The Goal of ArtSplash
Encourage and promote Northwest artists, exposure the community to a wide range of artistic experience, and endorse interaction between artists and the community.

ArtSplash Juror
The juror for this year's ArtSplash Art Show & Sale is Jennifer Zika. Ms. Zika has been the Director at the Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery since 2000. As Director, she is a liaison for Oregon artists and clientele, and manages a staff of approximately 100 volunteers who help operate the gallery and greet the public.

Jennifer graduated with a Liberal Arts degree from Bowling Green State University specializing in business, photography, art history and music. Since 1988 she has also shown and won awards for her traditional black and white photographs of street life in various venues in San Francisco, Cleveland, Ohio, and here in Portland, Oregon.

ArtSplash Volunteers
Each year, more than 40 volunteers share over 500 hours of their time to help plan the event, and assist during the show.

Tualatin Commons
The "Living Room" of Tualatin and the perfect setting for ArtSplash. Offices, shopping, housing, restaurants and a hotel are intermixed along a wide pedestrian promenade, which surrounds the 3-acre lake. Public plazas and a fountain add to the lively urban mix. Tiles and artist-designed drinking fountains are integrated into the plazas. Visitors can take a stroll exploring ArtWalk, dine, relax on a lakeside bench, chalk up the walkways, and imbibe in the festivities of the summer Concerts on the Commons series.
